Reflection

Year 6.
This Year… Year Six was a challenging, head-hurting year wich made my mind sometimes move and spin in circles to dead ends an impossible questions. This recount is all about my favourite year with the best subjects(Maths, Reading, Writing).
--------------------------------------------------------
\\

Maths
Maths was the hardest, most challenging subject this year that includes many problem solving strategies and more. I am really good at solving my Times Tables and many strategies with Division. I mostly struggle with big Fractions and Multiplication when it's really huge numbers. Near the end of this year, Mrs Tafea my Teacher introduced the hardest math I have ever seen, called Circumference. Circumference is a perimeter of a circle. There is also a Radius of a circle wich is the Width or it can be Height. This was the hardest subject of them all.
--------------------------------------------------------
Reading.
Reading was actually the easiest subject of the year because I have a very good memory for Reading. Most of our work for Reading is to read part of a book trying to make connections to real life, we also have to write recounts about the book by answering critical questions. I am a lover for reading and I have a lot of books including the Harry Potter book set.
My  reading is a high level reading that is way above my level I should be and I am really proud that I am a good Reader.
--------------------------------------------------------
Writing.
Writing is one of my favourites because I am a fast typer on computer. I can type the keys without even knowing with my Muscle Memory. I have wrote a lot this year and my favourite is a Recount about a trip to Australia. I wrote over 1200 words in my Recount.

Inquiry.
Inquiry is basically about my maths, we have a program called pixton that allows us to explain how we learn by creating a comic strip with endless adjustable settings to it. My inquiry is a good subject because we also make newsletter or a project on paper for are learning to.
--------------------------------------------------------
Pixton.

Pixton is a do-it-yourself site where kids can use an incredible option of tools to create and share amazing comics through storyboards. My perspective is that Pixton is the best site for kids to show their learning and create Who-knows-What they can create about their work. This site has endless possibilities. This is my favourite thing ever.

Not thinking right

It was a beautiful and lovely day when a tall man came outside to pick some ise . He was in bare feet and had no t-shirt, he was as tall as a giraffe but he climbed a short like dwarf treedancing back and forth in the soft breeze. He looks as hungry as a bear and the fruits look mouthwatering and it's calling to him.The ise looks as green as grass but they taste as sweet as candy.

Tongan Language week

Last friday, (6th of September 2019) Tamaki Primary School , had a huge, crowded, assembly to celebrate Tongan language week. While they were setting up the hall, first we had to wear our costumes (Tupenu) And wait until we line up. After a few minutes, we left (go at 11:00 and 11:30 start) our class lined up, and walk outside to the court and get to our lines.

After a short walk, we finally made it to the hall, I was so surprised, because there were so many students and whanau and special guest that gathered in our huge assembly, and came to watch what we have learned, and practiced. In a few performances, it was finally our turn to perform. I got so nervous because there were alot of students and whanau that came to watch our performance, (Ma'ulu'ulu). After Our difficult dance, we finally went back to class and waited until we get called to the hall for the tongan foods. In a few minutes we got called to the hall. I was so excited and very thankful, because they cooked delicious tongan food  for the whole whole school.

I think last friday was awesome and very exciting because we get to eat tongan foods, and do a great, and surprising performance last friday.

Algerbra

problem
the problem is a sport team shirt with your name printed on the back cost $ 30 if your name has six letters if your name has ten letters the same shirt will cost you $38. the cost is worked out the price of a plain shirt plus a standard amount added on for each letter.

what is the price for a plain t-shirt

equation
$30.00=6L
$38.00=10L

1.   10-6=$4.00
     $8 t-shirt = 4L
     $8divided by 4=$2:00x$6=$12)  $30:00-$12=18:00
     plain t-shirt cost$18:00

2.   $18x5=$90
      $21x2=$42
       $90-+$42=$132:00

3.     38p +126L

      $18x38=$364:00
      10x30=$300:00
       8x8=$64:00

4.  126Lx$2.00=252:00
     $364+$251=415:00

l means letter and P means plain t-shirt

Firstly, room 8 was very excited to go in room 6 and learn how to make a kite making kite is really fun. Listening is really important because if you listen you will know what you are doing.

Secondly, Ms Tafea cut the paper into a diamond  shape  because diamond has 4 side so me and my buddy jordan was decorating our kite. My kite was blue because we had to draw anything on our  kite I wrote my family's name on the kite.

At last we got to fly the kites and it was so fun. And Ms Tafea  but the strings on the kite and it was so fun flying them.

Slow and steady wins the race

Firstly. The rabbit was having a little snack then he was walking and he saw the tortoise and he said man you are so slow . How can you beat another animals if you are so slow  however the tortoise said I’ll accept your challenge said the tortoise .

Secondly. Then the tortoise met the (lapiti) rabbit and they wear at the starting line and all the animals was there to watch the race . Boom the race started and the (lapiti) rabbit zoomed of and the (laumei) tortoise was taking his time.

Later on.  However the rabbit was so tied  he thought that he was so ahead of the tortoise  so he laid beside a tree and sleeped. And the tortoise was walking and he look in his direction and keeped on walking.

Finally.  The rabbit woke up from his nap and looked anxious so he sprinted to see if the tortoise is almost at the finish line  but the tortoise was 1 meter away from the finish line .  But the rabbit was too late the (laumei)  oreddy  won so the rabbit was sad and the tortoise was sad.  The end

Making the yummy otai and pani keke.

Last week room 8 was so excited hear that we got to make a Tongan drink and food. I did not know the drink until we  got down stairs. These are the recipe milk, green apple, ice, crushed pineapple and mango pulp.

Firstly, room 8 went down in the  baking room and work as a team to make otai . First some girls in room 8 put the ice carefully in the white, big container. Then we add three boxes of dairy milk. After we put the milk in the container some boys peeled the green apple with the peeler.

Finally, we had to tip the crushed pineapple and the mango pulp. Then we mixed the ingredient together and add some brown sugar. We stirred it well with a big spoon after that we put in the fridge left in there until the keke was done.

At last Ms  Tafea made the amazing pani keke and everyone got to enjoy the pani keke and the otai. It was yummy.
